Building Control
The primary purpose of the Building Control Regulations is to provide for the health, safety and welfare of people in and around buildings. The regulations apply to new premises, extensions and modifications to existing buildings and specific changes of use of existing buildings.

At Doyle Morris Group we provide the following building control services:
- Assigned Certifier
- Design Certifier
- Ancillary Certifier
- Disability Access and Use Services
- Fire Safety Services
Assigned Certifier:
The Assigned Certifier is assigned by the Building Owner as required under the Building Control Amendment Regulations. They undertake to inspect, and to co-ordinate the inspection activities of others during construction, and to certify the building or works on completion. The Assigned Certifier is a registered professional person in accordance with the Building Control Regulations
Design Certifier:
The Design Certifier is a registered professional person in accordance with the Building Control Regulations
- The Design Certifier has been commissioned by the Building Owner to design, in conjunction with others, the building or works described in the relevant Commencement Notice (or 7 Day Notice), and to certify such design is in compliance with the Second Schedule to the Building Regulations insofar as they apply to the building or works concerned, and
- The Design Certifier confirms that the documentation included in the schedule to the Commencement Notice (or 7 Day Notice) which has been prepared by him/her, other members of the design team and specialist designers whose design activities he/ she has coordinated, has been prepared to demonstrate such compliance.
Disabled Access and Use Services:
Assess initial design scheme for compliance. Record any issues early and highlight to design team and client with potential mitigation solution.
Prepare and submit the Disabled Access Certificate Application for the works once the final design has been approved. Preparation of Disabled Access Certificate design drawings and preparation of compliance report.
Preparation of response to queries and additional information requests made by the Building Control Authority, including preparation of revised drawings / reports where applicable.
Fire Safety Services:
Assess initial design scheme for compliance. Record any issues early and highlight to design team and client with potential solution.
Prepare and submit the Fire Safety Certificate Application for the works once the final design has been approved. Preparation of Fire Safety Certificate design drawings and preparation of compliance report
Preparation of response to queries and additional information requests made by the Fire Authority, including preparation of revised drawings / reports where applicable.
